Security and Governance

Security - End User Permissions

End User Permissions Microsoft 365 Copilot does not extend your existing user permissions. It adopts them. Softcat recommends auditing what your end users have permission to see and what not to see to ensure Copilot does not surface information an end user was not aware they had access to.

Governance - Data Lifecycle Management

Copilot does a great job creating a natural language output from a variety of sources including SharePoint and OneDrive for Business documents. However, Copilot could surface out of date information. A data lifecycle management policy will help move older documents into an archive or label them for Copilot to ignore. All while the end user can still access them if needed.

Risk – Training your end users
