The standard is based on several quality management principles, including a clear focus on meeting customer requirements, strong corporate governance and leadership commitment to quality objectives, process-driven approach to meeting objectives, and a focus on continuous improvement.

ISO 27001 Overview

ISO 27001 is the international standard which is recognised globally for managing risks to the security of information you hold. Certification to ISO 27001 allows you to prove to your clients and other stakeholders that you are managing the security of your information.

Softcat holds the most current iteration of ISO 27001:2013 which provides a set of standardised requirements for an Information Security Management System (ISMS). The standard adopts a process-based approach for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, maintaining, and improving your ISMS.

ISO 22301 Overview

ISO 22301:2019 specifies requirements to plan, establish, implement, operate, monitor, review, maintain and continually improve a documented management system to protect against, reduce the likelihood of occurrence, prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptive incidents when they arise.

Softcat operates a resilient framework for senior leadership to assess Business Continuity and resilience risks and opportunities, monitor and review performance, and set objectives for continual improvement within the ‘context’ of organisational activities.

Softcat undertakes regular testing and exercising of our systems to ensure that the business can continue to operate and deliver high service standards to our customers.

ISO 14001 Overview

ISO 14001:2015 helps an organisation achieve the intended outcomes of its environmental management system, which provide value for the environment, the organisation itself and interested parties.

ISO14001 is consistent with Softcat’s environmental policy, and includes:

1.       Enhancement of our environmental performance.

2.       Fulfilment of our compliance obligations.

3.       Achievement of our environmental objectives.

ISO 50001 Overview

ISO 50001 is based on the management system model of continual improvement also used for other well-known standards such as ISO 9001 or ISO 14001.

ISO 50001 provides a framework of requirements for organizations to:

  1. Develop a policy for more efficient use of energy
  2. Fix targets and objectives to meet the policy
  3. Use data to better understand and make decisions about energy use in line with our Carbon Reduction Plan (Hyperlink to Plan)
  4. Measure the results
  5. Review how well the policy works, and
  6. Continually improve energy management.

ISO 20000-1 is the international standard for IT Service Management (ITSM), based on the fundamental principles of ITIL which gives you the methodology and the framework to help you manage your ITSM, while allowing you to prove that your company follows best practices; in turn, these best practices will help to improve your delivery of IT services.

Security is an important aspect of data protection. Softcat has been independently audited and has achieved Cyber Essentials Plus certification. The scope of this certification covers how we manage information security across all areas of our business, and independently verifies this to an internationally recognised standard

Softcat is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO Registration: ZA169334). This means we are committed to operating in compliance with all applicable data protection laws, including the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA) and the UK GDPR.
