Dell Modern Data Centre: designed, delivered, and supported by Softcat
Data centre modernisation with cloud flexibility, on infrastructure you own and control.

Private cloud on your terms
Modern private cloud gives you cloud flexibility on infrastructure you own. The architecture is yours to choose. Disaggregated infrastructure scales compute and storage independently, so capacity follows demand. Hyperconverged platforms keep compute, storage, and management together in one building block, ideal where simplicity and standardisation lead.
You run the platform, with licensing, cost, and migration timing under your control. Right-sized infrastructure also pays back quickly on energy. Dell delivers both routes across its private cloud portfolio.
Modern private cloud gives you cloud flexibility on infrastructure you own. The architecture is yours to choose.
- Disaggregated infrastructure scales compute and storage independently, so capacity follows demand and avoids over-provisioning.
- Hyperconverged platforms keep compute, storage, and management in one building block, where simplicity and standardisation lead.
- Either route runs the platform you already know, with licensing, cost, and migration timing under your control.
- Right-sized infrastructure pays back quickly on energy, and Dell delivers both routes across its private cloud portfolio.

Resilience designed in, from backup to cyber recovery.

AI readiness without a separate infrastructure island.

Performance that feeds modern workloads.
Modernisation outcomes
PowerStore
For virtualisation, database, and general-purpose workloads, PowerStore unifies block and file, including VMware vVols, on one NVMe platform with always-on data reduction. It can also run virtual machines directly on the array, removing the need for separate compute at smaller sites.
PowerVault (ME5 Series)
For smaller sites, simple SAN, and backup targets, PowerVault delivers cost-optimised, dual-controller block storage across SAS, SATA, and SSD for Windows, Linux, and VMware hosts.
PowerScale (formerly Isilon)
For file-heavy environments in media, research, and analytics, PowerScale provides scale-out NAS on OneFS, with a single namespace to petabytes and mixed node types in one cluster. It suits high-performance computing, media rendering, and AI and analytics pipelines.
PowerFlex
For high-performance, multi-hypervisor environments, PowerFlex scales compute and storage independently, deployed disaggregated or hyperconverged, with extreme IO for latency-sensitive and database workloads. It supports VMware, Kubernetes, bare metal, and OpenStack.
PowerMax
For mission-critical systems such as Oracle, SAP HANA, and mainframe, PowerMax delivers very low latency and massive IOPS, NVMe-optimised end-to-end. SRDF replication supports disaster recovery at scale, including mainframe and FICON support.
PowerStore Elite feature line
PowerStore Elite is Dell's new flagship storage class, announced at Dell Technologies World 2026. A full refresh of hardware and software, it is built modularly, so performance, IO, capacity, and software upgrade in place as needed.
