Networking v2

Leading IT infrastructure provider Softcat has successfully landed a place as a supplier for the Network Services 2 framework (RM3808). Created by the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) on behalf of the UK public sector, the framework will deliver networking, local area connectivity, data access, conferencing, telephony and unified communications services for all public sector organisations.

Softcat has been awarded places on the following Lots:

  • Lot 1:    Data Access Services
  • Lot 2:    Local Area Connectivity Services
  • Lot 5:    IP Telephony Solutions
  • Lot 8:    Video Conferencing Services
  • Lot 9:    Audio Conferencing Services
  • Lot 10:  Unified Communications Services
  • Lot 13:  Contact Centre Services

What does this mean?

The framework opens the door for the public sector to modernise mobile, radio, email and call centre services, heighten security and data protection, and drastically improve communication networks. It will provide UK public sector customers, including the Central government, local authorities, NHS and charities, with a new, compliant and refreshed route to market replacing the out-going Network Services (RM1045) framework.

The framework, which should be available for the next four years, offers public sector customers a range of suppliers who have been rigorously tested in capabilities, competencies and business processes.

Anthony Cowen, Softcat’s public sector Director said, “This framework works well to strengthen our existing framework portfolio. Providing a strong route to market for networking-related technology, that Softcat and our partners perform particularly well in.”

Softcat has already achieved widespread recognition within the public sector and with its Network Services 2 supplier status, it enables Softcat to continue to provide its UK public sector customers with solutions and a wider range of services. Andy Bruen, Softcat’s Strategic Relationship Manager said, “This framework will enable our teams to bring Softcat’s much loved customer approach; to a technology area that we’ve historically excelled in.”

The Network Services 2 framework aligns with Softcat’s drive of helping to deliver digital transformation to its customers. Its four IT priorities: Hybrid Infrastructure, Digital Workspace, Cyber Security and IT Intelligence, help customers identify opportunities to maximise and improve their performance, as well as minimise costs and risks.
