Softcat is set to offer its customers even more peace of mind with the expansion of its cyber security offerings to include a Managed Detection Response (MDR) service.

The MDR service which rolls out this month is the first step in Softcat helping its customers enjoy a more proactive protection service, and is a natural follow on from its SIEM, Incident Response, Vulnerability Assessments and Managed Firewall Services.

Matthew Helling, Head of Softcat’s Cyber Security Services, says “Our customers are doing everything they can to protect their users and its data in the best possible ways and all Softcat is hoping to do is help them build upon that strategy. Building an effective security strategy ensures companies are in the best possible position to defend its organisation. MDR offers an organisation the opportunity to move from a solely reactive monitoring service to a proactive remediation service. This is just another step on the Softcat cyber security journey to bring advanced technologies to more organisations in an affordable way.”

Managed Detection and Response (MDR) denotes outsourced cyber security services designed to protect your data and assets even if a threat eludes common organisational security controls. An MDR security platform is an advanced 24/7 security control that includes a range of fundamental security activities aimed at protecting key corporate assets and data including hybrid cloud environments, Operational Technology (OT), end points and Office 365 environments. MDR services combine advanced analytics, threat intelligence, and human expertise in incident investigation and response deployed at the host and network levels.
