In the second year of the awards, taking place at The Brewery, London, Carola Van Der Sommen, Head of Programme and Project Management, picked up the Manager of the Year Awards. Softcat were shortlisted in 10 categories.

The CRN Women in Channel awards recognise the achievements of the entrepeneurs, leaders and exceptional employees who can act as role models for young females considering a career in the IT industry.

The evening featured an opening talk by sitting volleyball player, Paralympian and 7/7 London bombing survivor Martine Wright, followed by actor, writer and comedian Suzi Ruffell before the awards commenced.

Manager of the Year Carola Van Der Sommen joined Softcat in 2017, initially responsible for an underperforming support team, which was transformed into a high performing hub within 6 months. Shortly after she acquired responsibility for the Project Management team, adding the Programme Management team later in the year and, most recently, taking responsibility for the Consultancy team.
