Last week Softcat threw open the doors to its brand new office in Leeds, decked out with games consoles, chill out areas and a colourful design, and is already scouting for new staff to fill the premises. It’s the second northern base and the fifth UK office for IT infrastructure provider Softcat, whose revenues reached £504 million last year.

Softcat Leeds is looking to hire at least 30 staff in 2015, primarily to fill new sales roles, and is eagerly searching for new talent in Yorkshire and the North East, particularly recent or soon-to-be graduates, who will receive full on-the-job training.

Ashley Bilham, who is heading up the new Leeds office, is looking forward to recruiting more like-minded staff: “We’re really excited about this new office, not least because of its prime city centre location. We’re at the heart of Leeds here, with shops, bars and the train station just around the corner – the buzz of the city centre really complements our fun, dynamic and hard working company culture.

“So far we’ve got 11 staff on board, nine of whom have come directly from our Manchester office and have brought the unique energy of Softcat’s culture with them. There’s a rich talent pool in Yorkshire – we’re looking to boost our current numbers to 40 this year, increasing moving forwards.” He added, “This office represents a huge opportunity for us to increase our northern presence further and introduce our services to organisations in Yorkshire.”

Jamie Burke, Softcat’s sales director, said: “We’ve always invested heavily in our employees, as we know they’re one of the chief reasons we experience the growth we do – we help them to do their jobs by providing them with world-class training, and we reward them for their hard work by providing them with perks like trips abroad and team nights out, and amazing offices to work in. The new Leeds office is a great opportunity for new team members to step up, especially those who’ve just left university or are looking for their second jobs. We’ll ensure you continue to develop, and have fun while you do it. We’ve all got high hopes for the new office – we want it to become as successful as all other offices, and above all to be a place where people really enjoy coming to work.”

Softcat is an award-winning employer, last year taking second place in the UK Best Workplace ranking, and sixth place in the European ranking. For more information about the roles currently available at Softcat, including its new Leeds office, contact the HR department or check out our roles online.
