Circus May Ball 2018 3 edit

With appropriate fanfare, the Softcat Circus flew into full swing on the 16th May as the Roundhouse London was transformed into a big top, playing host to Softcat’s annual charity May Ball.

With strong-men, clowns and acrobats aplenty, Softcat welcomed over 750 guests from the IT industry, raising over £229,000 through ticket sales, raffle, silent auction and a live auction. This money will be distributed to children’s charity, Dreams Come True, who work to improve the lives of children and young people with serious and life-limiting conditions, as well as homeless charities St Mungo’s and Wycombe Homeless Connection.

Chief Executive of Dreams Come True, Richard Ashton expressed his gratitude to Softcat for holding the event, “On behalf of everyone at Dreams Come True I would like to say a heartfelt thanks to all who attended the May Ball, and the amazing team at Softcat for their continued help and support.

“We are humbled that for the sixth year running we were chosen to be a charity partner and thanks to this amazing support, Softcat have now made more than 500 dreams. Following this year’s event, this number will continue to grow.

“You have had a positive impact on so many lives and have created an incredible legacy of Dreams, and from the bottom of our hearts THANK YOU”.

The night, organised and hosted by Softcat staff, went off with a bang, supported by top industry talent such as artist and personality Peter Dickson, magician Jamie Raven and music from party band, The Tzars. With an electric atmosphere and plenty of flourish, the circus welcomed one and all for a night to remember.

Graeme Watt, CEO at Softcat, said, “Our May Ball is a fantastic opportunity to raise money for some very worthy causes, a huge thank you to all those who attended; our vendors, distributors and partners, as well as our own teams. The generosity shown will make a very real difference in people’s lives, and we are so grateful to those who have contributed.”

Lucky raffle and auction winners walked off with a range of prizes including tickets to the see the US Masters and signed Formula1 memorabilia

Our premium and most valued sponsors on the night were HPE, HP Inc, DellEMC, Lenovo, NetApp and Nuvias who collaboratively donated over 25% of the total.

We also want to thank our other top tier sponsors APC, Mimecast, Tableau, Arrow, Check Point, Eset, Exclusive Networks, LGE, LiveTiles, LogRhythm and TrendMicro.
