Softcat has been announced the UK’s largest value-add IT reseller today in an annual review of the UK’s market by Channel Reseller News (CRN) for the second year in a row.

The award follows Softcat outgrowing the wider market by three times in its fiscal 2022, , with a gross invoiced income surpassing all other companies in the UK industry at £2.51billion, up 29% on the previous year.

Graeme Watt, Chief Executive Officer at Softcat, said: “I am delighted that we have retained our number one position in the UK market again this year and grown the gap to our nearest competitors.

“We operate in a good space where the market has grown, and we have delivered by taking further share. I am most pleased for our team – this is a very visible outcome from all their hard work, commitment, and engagement throughout the last 12 months. They are amazing and remain heavily focused on working with customers to understand their needs and delivering solutions to commitment.”

Doug Woodburn, Head of Channel Research at CRN UK, said: "With invoiced sales of £2.5bn in its latest year, Softcat takes the CRN Top VARs crown in what was a period of record growth for the market. As the strong organic growth generated by Softcat shows, the IT solutions provided by the 100 companies in this report will remain a priority for end users even in the toughest of times."

CRN’s data is based mainly on the latest annual accounts each company filed on Companies House or the stock exchange (typically for years ending 31 December 2021 or 31 March 2022).
