Surface devices are designed with sustainability at their core. Microsoft is committed to being carbon-negative, water-positive, and achieving zero waste by 2030.[1] Surface devices incorporate recycled materials, use responsible packaging, and are EPEAT Gold certified.

Recycled Materials

100% recycled rare earth metals in magnets, recycled cobalt in batteries, and recycled aluminium in enclosures across Surface Laptop models.[10]

Responsible Packaging

A minimum of 70% recycled content in wood-based fibre packaging. Paper-based design minimising plastic use. 100% FSC-certified virgin paper from responsibly managed forests for Surface packaging.[11]

Energy Efficiency

ENERGY STAR certified and EPEAT Gold registered. Surface devices deliver efficient performance and long battery life.[12]

Designed Sustainably
