At the end of May, Microsoft announced a new PC category: Copilot+ PCs. To qualify as a Copilot+ PC, devices must offer high performance and all-day battery life, feature a Copilot key, run Windows 11, and have a Pluton security processor. Finally, the on-board Neural Processing Unit (NPU) needs to meet a performance requirement of 40 TOPS (Trillion Operations per Second).

Copilot+ PCs run AI locally using a Small Language Model for calculations that are completed on the machine. With AI running locally, users no longer require a consistent internet connection to use tools like Copilot or to take advantage of Windows Studio Effects.

Lenovo

Lenovo’s Copilot+ PC offering starts with the Yoga Slim 7x and ThinkPad T14s Gen 6, featuring the Snapdragon X Elite CPU. These AI-driven PCs offer high performance per watt with AI NPU processing up to 45 TOPS, as well as offline Large Language Model capabilities.

Lenovo is a unique OEM (original equipment manufacturer) providing the same keyboard experience for over 20 years. So aside from the addition of the new Copilot key, little will have changed for users when they use new Lenovo Copilot+ PC keyboards – an important consideration for ensuring accessibility.

Lenovo’s new devices come with tools for text creation, photo and video editing and productivity tasks – all enhanced by generative AI and machine learning. And they’re supported by a sustainable design and packaging options, with FSC-certified materials and CO₂ offset options.

HP

HP’s AI PCs run high-powered AI apps directly on the device, and the more it’s used, the more familiar to user preferences the engine becomes. This personalisation, alongside AI-enhanced visual and audio experiences helps users strengthen personal connections and minimise distractions. Samsung

Samsung has unveiled the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge which features advanced AI processing and hybrid AI integrations for elevated work and creativity. It comes with an immersive dynamic AMOLED 2X display for a premium viewing experience that’s enhanced by Vision Booster technology.
