Recently, Softcat hosted a webinar focusing on how Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Nerdio, and ControlUp work together to provide Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions.

He started by providing an overview of the VDI market today and how AVD, Nerdio and ControlUp work together to provide an innovative, cost-effective, user-friendly experience for delivering remote desktops and applications. He then wrapped up by providing an overview of Softcat’s preferred architecture for AVD and how Softcat can help customers design, implement and adopt these technologies in their organisation.

Tom Hickling, Microsoft’s Principal Product Manager for AVD and Windows 365, provided an overview of the latest innovations that Microsoft has introduced to its portfolio. These innovations have led to Gartner recognising Microsoft as a clear leader in this space.

Gavin Connolly, Nerdio’s Field Chief Technology Officer, demonstrated how Nerdio’s unique offering can help organisations manage, secure, deliver and cost-optimise their AVD desktops, all while unifying the management of Windows 365, AVD and Intune.

Simon Townsend, ControlUp’s Field Chief Technology Officer, wrapped up the session with an overview of how the DEX market has matured recently and how its solution can provide visibility, control and automation around the management of VDI technologies, such as Microsoft AVD and Windows 365.
As organisations continue to move towards modernising their delivery of workspace, AVD and Windows 365 will become increasingly prevalent for many of our customers.
