Softcat CEO Graeme Watt has won a Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Award honouring the Top CEOs in 2021. Glassdoor, the worldwide leader in insights about jobs and companies, released its annual award recognising the Top CEOs, which highlights top leaders that employees love working for in the UK.

Among chief executives recognised by employees in the UK, Graeme Watt received an impressive approval rating, and ranked third on the list, based on the anonymous and voluntary reviews Softcat employees shared on Glassdoor throughout the past year.

Graeme Watt says of the award “2021 has been a challenging and extraordinary year for everyone in all walks of life and I am extremely proud of how our Softcat team have responded and risen to the challenges. I am chuffed to be the recipient of this rating but it is really a positive and welcome reflection how our senior leadership team and the entire company pull together in normal times and particularly during the pandemic. Our company ethos is about driving the highest levels of employee motivation and engagement which in turn enables us to deliver an outstanding customer experience. This is a vote of confidence in the team at Softcat. They are a fantastic bunch of people and I love leading them and being part of such a great team. Thank you to everyone who took time to provide their feedback”

Despite the challenge of the pandemic Graeme has continued to instill a culture of care and community within the Softcat business. Softcat, driven by Graeme Watt, has invested heavily in its people health and wellbeing – regularly surveying its employees, and then listening and acting on the feedback received, introducing a buddy scheme to support those in need of extra care, and increasing the number of mental health first aiders available to help the Softcat staff plus providing additional mental health training for all managers. Graeme has also made D&I a key business priority. He is the executive sponsor of our BAME network and an active member in our Supporting Women in Business group as well and has been pivotal in launching a number of company and industry initiatives in this area.

“Company leaders around the world felt the ground shake as COVID-19 threatened the health, safety and wellbeing of employees and laid a new foundation for the future of work,” said Christian Sutherland-Wong, Glassdoor chief executive officer. “Through a challenging year, it’s inspiring to see Top CEOs who, according to their employees, adapted to change, redefined visions and led transparently while putting the health and safety of employees at the forefront. I extend my sincerest congratulations to this year’s exceptional Employees’ Choice Award winners.”

When employees submit reviews about their employer on Glassdoor, they are asked to rate several factors tied to their employment experience. These include rating sentiment around their CEO’s

leadership as well as around senior management, among others. Specifically, when rating their CEO on Glassdoor, employees are asked to report whether they approve or disapprove of or have no opinion about their CEO’s performance.
