Project at a Glance

SEGA Europe needed to relocate its London headquarters at short notice after its existing office was set for demolition. The new site was an empty shell, requiring a complete build from the ground up within a tight timeframe and limited budget. Softcat partnered closely with SEGA to design, deliver and install a modern, future-ready workspace, reusing existing technology where possible and implementing scalable AV and collaboration solutions to support hybrid working, town halls and day-to-day collaboration.

Challenge

SEGA was required to relocate its Brentford office with less than a year to design and deliver a fully operational headquarters. The new Chiswick site had no existing infrastructure, and SEGA was consolidating two floors into one, making space planning critical. With internal resources already busy with other projects, and concerns around hardware lead times, SEGA needed a trusted partner to manage complexity and deliver a high-quality, budget-optimised solution, on time.

Critical Success Factors:

1

On‑time delivery within tight constraints

Deliver a fully functional office within a compressed timeline and budget.

2

Cost‑efficient use of existing technology

Reuse existing technology where possible to reduce costs.

3

Modern, scalable collaboration experience

Implement modern AV and collaboration solutions to enhance user experience.

Solution

Softcat engaged early, taking a consultative approach to understand SEGA’s requirements and constraints. Working closely with SEGA and delivery partner Carillion, Softcat helped to design an end-to-end AV and collaboration solution that balanced cost, performance and scalability. By repurposing a significant amount of existing Logitech video conferencing equipment and upgrading the rest, Softcat delivered modern meeting spaces, digital signage, LED video walls and a bespoke town hall area designed to support hybrid meetings and company-wide events.

  • Consultative design process with early engagement to mitigate lead-time risks.
  • Integration of Logitech video conferencing solutions, reusing 40% of existing hardware.
  • End-to-end AV installation, including LED video walls, digital signage, and custom town hall facilities.

Results

The new headquarters was delivered within the required timeframe, with installation completed in just over a month. SEGA benefited from cost savings through hardware reuse, improved collaboration through intuitive AV technology, and enhanced internal communications through digital signage and video walls. The new town hall space has transformed companywide meetings, while Softcat’s responsive support ensured challenges were resolved quickly and the move date was met without compromise.

  • Significant cost savings through reuse of existing hardware.
  • Enhanced user experience with modern AV and collaboration solutions.
  • Reliable, responsive support ensuring timely delivery despite logistical challenges.

We’ve had the same account manager now for as long as I’ve been around and they are very receptive and professional. Softcat are always easy to talk to, easy to collaborate with and it’s a testament to the team that when project issues crop up, as they inevitably will, that it’s handled with the utmost care and attention.
