The university’s infrastructure had reached full capacity, causing performance issues, operational firefighting, and dependence on ageing systems that created single points of failure. Escalating licensing costs added financial pressure, while outdated backup systems and constrained scalability prevented the university from innovating or supporting future growth.

Softcat carried out discovery sessions to understand user demand, device types, floor plans and connectivity requirements. A remote wireless assessment was completed to determine optimal access point placement and coverage. Softcat’s Architecture Services team designed a future state 5G wireless solution and worked with technology partners to provide all components free of charge. Softcat Professional Services then installed and configured the solution on site within a single day.
