Silver Office Access Guidelines

The purpose of this page is to provide a view of the Softcat’s vendor office access guidelines. Please refer to this guide if you want to attend any of the Softcat offices.

Your tier is Silver

As a Silver vendor, you will be able to receive access to our Softcat Specialist Sales teams only.

If you want to do any enablement or sales activity with our specialist sales team, the requirement is that this is managed out of our Commercial Enablement team so please reach out to vendorframeworksupport@softcat.com.

Guidelines:

  • Check in to every office and ensure badges are worn
  • Ensure you are engaging with the specialist sales team aligned to your tech tower. Please reach out to vendorframeworksupport@softcat.com

Best practice for engaging with Softcat

Make yourself known

We’re a friendly group, so feel free to initiate conversations with individuals and teams. Don’t hide at the vendor bar.

Be proactive

Actively listen, share your thoughts and ideas with the team, but be open and allow them to contribute their ideas as well, and avoid micromanaging.

Utilise the time

Please make use and utilise the full day with our sales team. Softcat’s working hours are between 9 and 16:30 so would love to see you for the duration for this time.

Wear your lanyard

This ensures optimal engagement from sales when they know who they need to engage with, and this easily identifies you when visiting our offices.

Professionalism & Confidentiality

It is essential to uphold a strong standard of professionalism in all communications. Engage positively with your colleagues while being mindful not to disrupt.

Please ensure that you respect the confidentiality of sensitive corporate information. Use the designated vendor areas during visits.​

Communication & Collaboration

Keep active communications that will help uncover new opportunities and work existing ones

Take the time to get to know the team and ensure you know who to go to for what. Don’t hesitate to ask for support or help when you are in the office.

Proactive & Positive
Approach

Do take the initiative and don’t always wait for instructions. Be engaging but not intrusive

We expect a positive and progressive attitude even in challenging situations.

Expertise

As vendors, we look to you to bring a high level of expertise and a unique set of skills that directly support the team’s effectiveness.

Flexibility & Reliability

We need you to remain open to the changes of our sales team If you are booked in to visit, please turn up – your non-attendance may prevent someone else from visiting. Our office times are 9:30 – 16:30 for vendors.

Collaborative Environment

We appreciate that everyone has their own priorities, and to support smoother collaboration, we kindly ask that updates on opportunities are requested thoughtfully and at appropriate times

Use your time effectively with our sales team while in the office and respect the roles of the Alliances team, who will assist you during your visit.

Approval

once approved by our team whether its a vendor lite or enablement team, you will receive communications to confirm your booking

Vendor Lite Day

Vendor Lite Day or office access provides vendors the opportunity to visit any of our Softcat offices and interact with our sales team. During this event, vendors will be assigned a designated vendor desk and can discuss specific customer deals with our sales representatives.

The goal of this initiative is to strengthen the relationships between our sales teams and vendor contacts to collaboration on customer transactions. It is important to note that this event does not include sales training; instead, it is intended purely as a chance for vendors to meet our sales teams in person.

Vendor Sales Enablement

Sales enablement occurs when a vendor dedicates time to train our sales team on their products or services. This is a tailored service that should be overseen by the Commercial or Sales Enablement team. The enablement can encompass various activities, including Focus Days, Enablement Days, and team training sessions.
