Softcat Takes Quartet of Awards at the Inaugural CRN Women In Channel Awards

At a glitzy ceremony taking place at the Hilton London Bankside, Softcat picked up four individual awards and a Highy Commended. 

The CRN Women in Channel Awards recognise the achievements of the entrepreneurs, leaders and exceptional employees who can act as role models for young females considering a career in the IT industry. 

The evening featured an opening talk by Paula Reid talking about her epic adventure to the South Pole, followed by Comedians Choice Award winner Laura Lexx, before the awards ceremony itself got started. 

     

 

Picking up the Graduate/Apprentice of the Year was Morgan O'Sullivan, who following her apprentice programme was recently appointed to a Deputy Team Leader role, followed by an award for Outstanding Returner for long-standing Softcatter Faye Morgan-Frith - returning to work from maternity leave, she has since expanded her role to include two more operational areas and teams. Sales Employee of the Year was handed to Lorna Sharpe, one of the top ten sales performers in each of the last five years, while Microsoft Program Manager Paris King was given a Highly Commended for the Rising Star category. Finally, Softcat Independent Non-Executive Director, Vin Murria, was handed a Lifetime Achievement award. Vin was recognised with an OBE in 2018 for services to the UK digital economy and advancing women in the software sector, and also sits on the board at Sophos. 

Rebecca Monk, Softcat HR Director, commented on the awards: 'A huge congratulations to our worthy winners and well done to our other shortlisted nominees and all the winners on the night. It was great to have such a strong showing at the inaugural awards, and we're looking forward to future events'.
