Softcat signs the UK Government’s Cyber Resilience Pledge

Softcat has become one of the first organisations to sign the UK Government’s Cyber Resilience Pledge, reinforcing our commitment to helping customers, partners and the wider industry strengthen their cyber resilience in an increasingly complex threat landscape.

The Cyber Resilience Pledge, launched by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT), brings together government and industry to encourage practical action against growing cyber threats.

Cyber security remains one of the most significant challenges facing organisations today. Threats are becoming more frequent, sophisticated and damaging, while the rapid development of AI technologies is adding new complexities for businesses to navigate. The pledge recognises that strengthening cyber resilience is a shared responsibility, requiring collaboration between government, industry and supply chains.

By signing the pledge, Softcat has committed to three key actions designed to improve organisational resilience and promote good cyber security practices.

• Making cyber security a board-level responsibility, by implementing the Cyber Governance Code of Practice and ensuring all board members complete the NCSC’s Cyber Governance Training 
• Registering for the NCSC’s free Early Warning service, a tool that alerts organisations to potentially suspicious activity on its networks 
• Taking a risk-based approach to requiring the government-backed Cyber Essentials certification across its supply chain
