We were awarded Sustainability Champion of the Year (Reseller) and Best Sustainable Customer Project of the Year, for our work with Kent County Council on its hardware access and device recycling scheme. Softcat’s Alastair Wynn, Business Transformation Director, also picked up the Sustainability Evangelism Award 2024.

The awards ceremony was a part of the CRN Sustainability in Tech Summit which included keynote presentations from Steve Finnegan PhD, one of the UK’s leading experts on Net Zero Carbon, and TV presenter and documentary maker Philippa Forrester. Softcat played its part in the Summit by organising a set from environmental researcher and comedian Dr Matt Winning, who bought the house down with his climate change comedy.

The awards had 12 categories and recognised those in the IT sector that are making a real difference in the fight to stop global warming, and who are making huge advancements in the journey to Net Zero. Representing Softcat on the day included Al Wynn, John Gladstone, Sustainability Lead, and Rachel Moorthy, Sustainability Executive.

“I am delighted to see the recognition we received from CRN for our efforts. Sustainability is a core part of everything we do at Softcat, and to be seen as a champion in this area is brilliant recognition for the work we've done and continue to do in the industry. It's testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, and the collaboration and engagement with our key partners who have worked tirelessly to integrate sustainable practices into every aspect of their operations.

“We have a long journey ahead and we will continue to prioritise sustainability in everything we do and collaborate with our partners to unlock sustainable outcomes with customers and partners to drive positive change. Sustainability is crucial to our future and leads to successful outcomes for long term success. Thank you, CRN for this recognition and for bringing together the tech community at this event; we look forward to more exciting, rewarding times ahead, together with customers and partners." – Alastair Wynn – Business Transformation Director

“An amazing result for Softcat! But it really is a team effort. Softcat strives to be a leader in all areas of environmental, social and governance, so it is fantastic when we are recognised! Thank you to everyone involved including our customers and partners.” – John Gladstone – Sustainability Lead
