In support of Baby Loss Awareness Week, Softcat lit up its HQ in Marlow, in pink and blue lights. The lights represent diversity and acceptance, raising awareness of the pain many parents carry following pregnancy or baby loss.

Baby Loss Awareness Week (also known as BLAW) takes place annually, from 9 to 15 October. BLAW aims to break the silence surrounding pregnancy and baby loss, foster understanding and ensure that no individual or family has to grieve alone. The campaign is spearheaded by Sands, the UK’s leading pregnancy and baby loss charity.

Softcat has been supporting the BLAW campaign for 5+ years, raising money for Sands through various initiatives such as the Ribbon Run, where our employees come together to walk or run 5, 10 or 15k.

Leveraging support from local organisations, the Ribbon Run took place at the Little Marlow Athletics Track. Two teams from Softcat also took part in a charity football match at Beaconsfield Town FC. The football match also takes place annually and has become a much-loved Softcat tradition.

“This is the second year I’ve taken part in the Ribbon Run, in support of Sands.  It was incredibly special to come together with colleagues and friends for a cause that touches so many lives. There was a real sense of care and togetherness, and I’m proud that we could show families affected by baby loss that they are not alone.” – David Knight, Softcat employee

Support for BLAW and Sands extended beyond Marlow, with employees from our offices in London, Birmingham and Leeds, coming together to take part in localised Ribbon Runs.
