Softcat first opened its doors in Manchester back in 2008. After more than a decade at Universal Square, the team has officially outgrown the space - and now, we’ve levelled up.
We’re excited to announce our move to a brand-new office that’s nearly twice the size of Universal Square and more than nine times bigger than our original site.
As of Thursday 28 August, our Manchester team is now based on the sixth floor of the Goods Yard Building, located in St John's - the city’s vibrant new creative district. Surrounded by leading digital and creative businesses, it’s the perfect setting for our next chapter.
With recent relocations in Birmingham, London and Bristol, our new Manchester space continues the evolution of Softcat’s workplace design, bringing together a refreshed brand identity, vibrant colours, and a sleek, modern aesthetic.
The new office offers an impressive 7,387 sq. ft. of additional space and is thoughtfully designed to support productivity and collaboration. Features include a Techbar for on-the-spot IT support, dedicated focus areas, multi-functional breakout zones, a vendor lounge, and private meeting booths - all aimed at enhancing the day-to-day experience for staff and visitors alike.
And because wellbeing is just as important as workflow, the space also includes areas to relax and recharge:
- Oasis Secret Garden
- Wellness and multi-faith room
- Gaming zone
- Private changing rooms
It’s a space built not just for work, but for comfort, creativity and connection.
Opening day was a celebration filled with energy, cake, fizz, and a ribbon cutting to mark the occasion. It was a fantastic moment for the team to come together and celebrate this exciting milestone.
