Softcat have some fantastic experience and references in the Retail sector and in particular, IT Security.
As a valued customer of Softcat we would like to invite you to a Retail IT Security round table hosted by Lee Howard, IT Security Manager at N Brown, Adam Louca, Security Chief Technologist at Softcat, and Dylan Foster-Edwards, CTO at Softcat.
The suggestion was made by Lee to run this event where likeminded individuals can have the opportunity to sit informally in a room together to discuss what is going on it the industry over a beer and some food. Lee's proposal is:
- My proposal is to arrange a closed door, informal, knowledge sharing event for Security professionals in and around the area to freely discuss the day to day cyber threats and challenges posed to their respective organisations. I'd like to discuss the techniques and mechanisms they are employing to combat these threats, highlighting pros and cons from real world experiences.
- I'd also like to do a reflective look back at the trends we've seen over the last 6 to 12 months and speculate on what the next 6 to 12 months could hold, and how best to posture ourselves.
- By sharing our ongoing experiences, my intention is to arm our Cyber comrades with this assimilated knowledge so that it may help mitigate or prevent future cyber-attacks that others may not have yet experienced or inadvertently overlooked.
- I'd expect all parties to adhere to a mutually binding “Chatham House Rule” on etiquette, with the upmost discretion observed.
We would really appreciate your input in to making this a success and hopefully start something which will become a more regular event in future based upon the content and value everyone gains.
