Softcat is excited to announce that we have recently achieved Cisco’s IoT Partner Specialisation. This achievement demonstrates our understanding of Enterprise and Industrial IoT (Internet of Things) solutions to our customers, our ability to work alongside organisations as they explore which business outcomes IoT can support and how to design IT infrastructure to support IoT environments.
Adoption of IoT is forecast to almost double from 15.1 billion in 2020 to more than 29 billion IoT devices in 2030, with an infinite amount of use cases in both enterprise and industrial sectors. Although use cases are wide ranging, there is one common requirement which enables IoT adoption - network connectivity.
Enterprise organisations are exploring how they can connect third party IoT devices to wireless networks, as well as leveraging native capabilities in wireless deployments themselves such as location services. On the other hand, industrial organisations are at the start of large-scale digital transformation and investigating how private 5G can play a part in this journey of reliably connecting 1000s of devices, at ultra-low latency in a secure manner.
Cellular networking is set to continue expanding as Public 5G roll out continues to grow, achieve faster speeds, and enable both remote and mobile connectivity. A forecast by ITU (International Telecommunication Union) says “global mobile data traffic is estimated to grow at an annual rate of 55% in 2020-2030”.
As you embark and continue with your IoT adoption and digital transformations, Softcat’s recent achievement demonstrates our commitment to providing best-of-breed service.
