Softcat has added to its list of sustainability credentials by winning the Sustainable IT Solutions Provider of the Year at the CRN Tech Impact Awards for the second year running.
The Tech Impact Awards recognise and celebrate IT organisations which are leading the way in the sector for sustainability.
The awards were broadcast live from the CRN studio in London last week and Softcat was praised for its ‘credible, objective and real' approach to tackling sustainability.
The judges also commended the entry itself, which laid out how it is approaching sustainability from the perspective of internal action, supply chain and customer solutions.
Alastair Wynn, Business Development Director at Softcat said on winning the award: “Sustainability is a core part of everything we do at Softcat, and a big part of our future strategy, so winning this award is brilliant recognition for the work we've done and continue to do in the industry.
Softcat’s sustainability team have been working on some focussed initiatives over the past year; from Enexo, a platform to help businesses measure, manage and minimise emissions data, to achieving approval on its SBTi net-zero targets and launching its new electric car scheme for staff.
But according to John Gladstone, Sustainability Lead at Softcat, there is lots more to come.
He said: “It is fantastic to win this award as a mark of the progress we’ve made, but this is a long journey and one we cannot do alone. We require support from all of our suppliers and partners to deliver sustainable solutions for our customers to deliver against our goals to protect our planet, people and communities.”
The award is the last in a long line of sustainability accolades for Softcat, including: Lenovo Sustainable Partner of the Year, HP Impact Award 5*, having its SBTi Targets Approved and being signatory of the UN Global Compact.
