Softcat has secured a place on the Framework for Firewalls and Associated Services for Ireland’s Office of Government Procurement. This is Softcat’s first significant win in the Irish public sector market, and a major milestone for Softcat’s Dublin office, which opened in 2018.

The Framework for Firewalls and Associated Services enables Irish public sector organisations to procure both physical and virtual firewall appliances. Working exclusively with its channel partner, Check Point, Softcat can offer end-to-end firewall services including design, implementation, support, and professional technical services.

The framework is open to a wide range of Irish public sector organisations, including central government departments, local authorities, health and education authorities, the police, prison services and defence forces.

Hugh McGauran, Country Manager at Check Point Software Technologies Ltd said, “If a security gateway goes down, it can have a huge impact on an organisation’s ability to operate effectively. With Softcat on the procurement framework, our products and services can be provided to Irish public sector organisations through a top-tier Check Point partner. Softcat’s pro-active approach, in combination with Check Point’s Gen VI prevention capabilities, can maximise public sector organisations’ uptime and ensure that they can continue to provide vital services.”

Softcat’s success in securing a place on the OGP framework confirms its long-held position as a leading supplier of cyber security services – and demonstrates its ambition to expand further into Ireland.
