The transition will be complete for all customers by the end of May, although administrators can opt to switch between the interfaces if they require extra time to adapt. Softcat is one of the partners on hand to support customers during the transition.

Collaborative communications platform Skype for Business provides businesses with enterprise grade security, compliance and control, with extra features such as voice and video calls, online meetings and instant messenger for easy internal communications, built directly into Microsoft Office.
The platform is based on the popular application Skype, as currently used by 300 million individuals worldwide to freely connect with friends and family. As with the personal version, Skype for Business will allow users to connect with anyone in the Skype network, even outside their own organisation. However, Skype for Business conversations are encrypted and authenticated through Active Directory, and individual accounts can be managed by the IT department for added security.
While the update will be automatic and seamless, customers are advised to contact their account managers if they’d like to discuss any aspect of the new platform further.
