Important update to seat based offers in Microsoft’s CSP Programme

Important update to seat-based offers in Microsoft’s CSP Programme for Softcat customers

 

Key information for Softcat customers

Softcat, a leading certified Microsoft CSP partner for business users in the UK and Ireland is pleased to provide an important customer update regarding commercial changes introduced by Microsoft affecting seat-based subscriptions for online services.  

Softcat customers currently billed monthly will automatically have their existing renewal date extended to February 2023 on the legacy subscription model. However, all customers who have had their renewal date extended, will still have the option to cancel their subscription at their existing renewal date.  

Softcat customers currently billed annually, will have the option to start a new subscription on a 12-Month term in February 2022. Customers who choose this option will be credited the remaining months on their existing subscription when the new subscription is purchased.

All customers will also have the option to remain as they are until their next renewal date at which point, they will move to the new commerce experience.

All Softcat CSP customers will receive an email in early January 2022 with more details and the ability to choose what they want Softcat to action in February.

These changes will only impact ‘per user’ subscriptions for Modern Workplace & Business apps and will not affect any Azure subscriptions.

Introducing a choice of three new subscription terms for online services

Monthly Billing

-          True monthly rolling subscription with 30 day renewals from initial purchase date

-          Customers can scale down their seat count at each 30-day renewal point

-          Customers can cancel the subscription at each 30-day renewal point

-          Seat increases can take place at anytime

-          1 – Month subscriptions will have a 20% price premium 

12 Monthly or upfront billing

-          12-month commitment, offering renewal at 12 months from purchase date

-          Customers can scale down their seat count at each 12-month renewal

-          Customers can cancel their subscription at the 12-month renewal point

-          Seat increases can take place at anytime

36 Month commitment: monthly, annual or upfront billing options

-          36-month commitment offering renewal date at 36 months from purchase date 

-          Customers can scale down their seat count at each 36-month renewal

-          Customers can cancel their subscription at the 36-month renewal

-          Seat increases can take place at anytime

NB: 36 – month subscriptions are only available on some M365 & D365 products and will not be available until March 2022 please contact the Microsoft team for more information
