Peter Kelly - Founder

Passionate about staff happiness

Peter didn’t finish his degree, deciding instead to travel the world & seek his fortune. He worked in Sales & Training with Rank Xerox for seven years. When he founded Software Catalogue Ltd in 1993 (which became Softcat plc and is now Softcat Limited), Peter was determined to do things differently without the politics and with excellent customer service. His vision was to provide an intelligent source for IT procurement to the corporate client. Peter takes overall responsibility for strategic direction.
David Simpson - Commercial Director

Dave joined us in 1995 in a sales role and was promoted to Sales & Marketing Director in 1997, in 2006 Dave progressed to Commercial Director where he utilises his skills to manage Vendors, Partners and our specialist Security Team.
Sam Routledge - Services Director

Sam joined Softcat in 1998, fresh from studying Classics at Cambridge. After spending eight successful years within the sales team, he moved to head up Softcat’s drive into the services and solutions arena. Sam spends the majority of his working week helping customers find technology solutions to business problems and focusing the efforts of Softcat’s growing Professional Services team on delivering these.
Martin Hellawell - Managing Director

Martin joined Softcat as Managing Director on February 2006. He has overall responsibility for the day to day activities of the company and business growth. Previously Martin enjoyed a long and distinguished career with Computacenter in the UK and overseas. He has also worked with many leading vendors as an independent consultant on channel strategy.
Doug Fawell - Operations Director

In 1999 I was involved in the implementation of our CRM and procurement tools which whilst on the same platform today have been developed extensively in order to help the business support our customers with a high degree of automated processes. Since then I have been involved in the introduction of our Services offering to our customers and more recently taking a strategic role in selling into the Public Sector.
I am passionate about change for the good; the business needs to support the needs of our customers. My role enables me to have a significant impact on how this can be achieved.
Bill Kenny FCA - Finance Director

Bill qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen (Dublin) in 1990. Following a period with the WPP Group, Bill joined Softcat in 1995 when the Company was turning over £8m. He has witnessed the steady growth each year to a predicted turnover of £125m in 2010, the associated expansion of staff numbers from 16 to 220 and the opening of our first regional office in Manchester.
Ian Goodwin - Microsoft Business Director

Ian joined Softcat in March 2001 as Microsoft Business Manager, following many years experience working in management positions in the channel. Since 2007 and his appointment as Microsoft Business Director Ian's primary responsibility has been to ensure that Softcat's customers are correctly appraised of and informed about the various options available to them for the correct licensing of Microsoft software.
Dave Ridgway - Sales Director

Since joining Softcat in July 2000 Dave has progressed through the sales team to SME Sales Manager and in May 2006 took the role of Sales Director. His expertise, understanding of the sales process, and leadership skills developed over ten years with Softcat, are all an integral part of our sales growth and customer service excellence.
