As part of the change, Symantec and Veritas have recently recertified Softcat as Expert Competency holders for enterprise backup and recovery, midmarket backup and recovery, and information archiving.

As an existing part of Symantec’s branding, the Veritas logo and deliverables will be very familiar to current customers. Symantec chose Veritas as its new branding due to its strong resonance with customers; since Symantec merged with Veritas in 2005 the company has grown to serve 75% of the Fortune 500 with its storage management, disaster recovery and back up solutions.
Symantec believes that as an independent body, Veritas is uniquely positioned to help businesses use their information to create business advantage, and will “solve the most critical information challenges facing our customers today and tomorrow.”
In addition to delivering its existing core product range to customers, Veritas is also investing in developing its product capabilities and advancing its technologies to drive superior data management and security practices for customers, with next-generation solutions designed for hybrid cloud environments expected to come on the market later this year.
