Crown Commercial Service (CCS) has awarded Softcat as a supplier on its CSS Technology Services 2 Framework (TS2). The framework enables public sector customers to get the best value for ICT products and services using TS2 as a ‘one-stop technology shop’. Softcat were awarded as a supplier on all of the competed LOTs:

Lot 1 - Technology Strategy & Services Design

Lot 2 - Transition and Transformation

Lot 3 - Operational Services Service Group a – End User Services

Lot 3 - Operational Services Service Group b - Operational Management Services

Lot 3 - Operational Services Service Group c - Technical Management

Lot 3 - Operational Services Service Group d - Application and Data Management

Lot 4a- Programmes and Large Projects – Official

Lot 4b - Programmes and Large Projects – Above Official

CCS consulted widely with customers and suppliers before designing this new framework from the ground up. TS2 is the first framework of its type to include provision for Framework Agency, which enables customers to call on products and services from other CCS IT frameworks – ideal for larger project scoping.

The framework will enable Softcat to continue to provide its UK public sector customers with solutions for their ICT requirements, including comprehensive IT management and operational services. Softcat will work with public sector customers to implement a broad range of technology services from strategy design to application and data management.

Andy Bruen, public sector strategic relationship manager at Softcat, said: “We are delighted to confirm Softcat’s success in securing a place on the CCS TS2 framework. Our ability to demonstrate strong competencies in the IT services market place along with a clear understanding of the needs of public sector customers was instrumental to our inclusion on the framework. The framework allows us to continue supplying our established public sector customers, and provides an excellent route to market for us to work with new customers.”

Bruen continued: “This new award will also benefit our public sector customers, who will be able to leverage Softcat’s supplier status with other complementary CCS IT Frameworks, allowing for lower aggregated cost models across larger projects that encompass multiple technologies.”

The new TS2 framework replaces the outgoing Technology Services framework that ended in May 2017, which was introduced to encourage and support public sector organisations in sourcing specialist IT services. It is estimated that TS2 will enable savings of £180m for the public sector over the next four years.

Commenting on how Softcat will deliver services under the framework, Bruen said: “First and foremost, the focus will be on addressing our customers’ needs and exceeding their expectations in terms of creative, cost-efficient solution design, professional implementation and a genuine focus on the customer’s benefits realisation. We have built a specialist public sector sales management team of over 100 dedicated individuals, supported by a highly qualified and experienced professional services team of 250+ people. These resources, working within the context of TS2, leaves us very well placed to address the Information Technology needs of the public sector customer.”
