Following a huge on-going recruitment drive, Softcat  has today welcomed 56 new staff to its ranks. The employees  will be based across Softcat’s five UK offices; 19 in Marlow, 15 in Manchester, 9 in Bristol, 7 in London and 6 in Leeds. This brings the Leeds office up to almost 25 staff within 6 months of its opening.

The majority of the new starts have joined as sales executives and support assistants for corporate and public sector customers, with others joining the company’s technical graduate scheme. Softcat currently has positions open for 14 different roles on its website, spanning sales roles, technical roles, graduate roles, admin and ops, and apprentices.

Martin Hellawell, CEO, welcomed the new recruits and hinted at plans for further expansion: “I’m delighted to welcome our new staff to the team, the largest intake yet. I’d also like to give a special mention to our HR team who have done a brilliant job in reaching some pretty challenging targets.   A key ingredient of Softcat’s development is constantly bringing in more talent to the organisation to drive our future growth.  Finding the right kind of talent – bright, enthusiastic, passionate people with a great attitude and strong work ethic - is far from easy.  We spend an inordinate amount of time on finding and recruiting that kind of talent.  The work never stops, we are now working hard on filling the next three intakes scheduled over the next six months.”

Starting with one office in 1993, Softcat now has five bases, two of which (Leeds and Bristol) have  opened in the last 18 months.

Softcat’s employees are counted as some of the happiest in the UK, with the Great Place To Work institution ranking it the UK’s no. 2 workplace and the 8th best in Europe.  Softcat’s generous rewards system and friendly culture have attracted scores of talented new employees. The company offers employees a structured career and development path, outstanding earnings potential and a plethora of benefits including incentive trips abroad, very regular social activities and little extras like half days on their birthdays and free breakfast.

Perhaps most importantly, Softcat provides all recruits with regular training to help to keep their skills and knowledge at the forefront of the industry. According to an external survey of Softcat staff, 95% of staff would recommend working there to others.

Softcat is still hiring for its five UK offices. Those interested in working for one of the best workplaces in the UK and Europe are encouraged to take a look at current available jobs in Manchester, Leeds, London, Bristol and Marlow.
