What we do
Just weeks after being Highly Commended by judges at the National Apprenticeship Awards, Softcat has won the coveted Apprenticeship Programme of the Year award at the 2017 Learning Awards. Softcat’s head of training and development Anushka Davies and Apprentice Programme Lead Laura Sneath attended the awards, held at the Dorchester Hotel, London.
The Learning and Performance Institute’s (LPI) annual Learning Awards, now in its 21st year, recognises individuals and organisations for their outstanding achievement, best practice and excellence in corporate learning and performance. The organisers received hundreds of submissions from around the globe, including many from the world’s leading brands, alongside first-time submissions from emerging technology providers.
Ahead of the award ceremony, LPI managing director, Edmund Monk, said: “The heritage and reputation of The Learning Awards is unrivalled. For those who are shortlisted and those who eventually win, the experience often leads to career-changing opportunities as companies and individuals are sought out for their experience and innovation.”
Softcat’s managing director, Colin Brown, added: “Less than two weeks ago we were delighted that our apprenticeship programme was highly commended for an award, so to come top in our category at the Learning Awards is an overwhelming achievement. Our apprenticeship programme has only been running for three years however it’s brought a huge amount of value to the company and is something we’ll continue to invest in.”
Colin continued, “While this award recognises the whole company, I’d like to give particular gratitude to the teams and individuals involved in developing our apprenticeship programme. Developing a programme like this from scratch is no easy feat and this award stands testament to the enthusiasm and dedication the team have put into making it a success.”
