CA Technologies and Softcat is the latest partnership to provide software solutions through the recently updated G-Cloud 4 framework. Softcat, a Premier CA Technologies partner will provide CA Technologies solutions to public sector G-Cloud customers. CA Technologies already sells directly through the G-Cloud framework, and will now extend its reach to new customers through its partnership with Softcat.

CA Technologies provides IT management solutions that help customers manage and secure complex IT environments to support agile business services. These solutions provide G-Cloud customers with superior security, visibility and overall management of their networking processes.

The following solutions have been added to the framework list and are available to purchase through the CloudStore:

  • CA CloudMinderTM allows public sector organisations to improve user experiences and reduce costs without compromising on security. CA CloudMinder offers advanced authentication, identity management and federated single sign-on as an integrated service to support both public and commercial sectors.
  • CA Nimsoft Monitor provides a single IT monitoring and service management solution which enables improved service quality and reduced costs of IT service delivery.
  • CA Nimsoft Service Desk offers an easy-to-configure, fast-to-deploy multitenant SaaS service management solution. It can leverage the monitoring information collected by CA Nimsoft Monitor, speeding the detection and escalation of issues and allowing organisations to provide better quality service—faster and more cost-effectively.
  • Already available in the CloudStore is CA Clarity PPMTM, the industry-leading Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) solution. CA Clarity PPM helps organisations drive innovation and deliver cost savings and efficiencies and ensure that projects and programs closely align with strategies and objectives, something which is especially important in the context of the Spending Review in June 2013.

Grant Davey, Softcat’s public sector networking manager said, “With the take up of ‘bring your own device’ (BYOD) and flexible working initiatives, public sector organisations are often dealing with multiple assets per individual. The increased flexibility of the workplace infrastructure encourages employees to access data from multiple devices and locations. With these diverse new IT environments proliferating, many public sector organisations are seeking a modern, secure method of identity and access verification, with controlled access from multiple devices and platforms. CA Technologies solutions fill this need.” He added, “CA Technologies cloud-based network monitoring solutions enable businesses to monitor, maintain and alert on network issues within their environment, enabling a proactive approach to accessibility and system management. This gives businesses the chance to react better to issues before they happen.”

Softcat’s public sector frameworks manager Andy Bruen said, “With an increasing foothold on the G-Cloud framework, our strategy remains the same: to source and introduce IT solutions and services at affordable prices for customers. This partnership with CA Technologies, a vendor with a strong existing presence on the framework, will support this strategy. We’re both established in the G-Cloud framework, but through partnership we’re able to reach a wider customer base, introducing CA Technologies solutions to new markets.”

“CA Technologies has enhanced its partnership with Softcat in order to address business IT requirements of today’s evolving public sector market. Both organisations see public sector IT as a priority investment with public sector bodies currently undergoing significant change – the pressure to reduce expenditure and ensure cost-effectiveness is key,” said Chris Hardy, Public Sector Sales Director, CA Technologies. “Through this partnership, we will reach a wider audience with combined solutions that provide an immediate return on investment to customers, while maintaining the highest possible customer satisfaction standards.”

Softcat is working with a number of partners to deliver products and services through the G-Cloud framework. Softcat has tendered at every stage of the G-Cloud evolution, steadily increasing its foothold on the framework with 12 vendors and 32 different service provisions, including Snow Software’s SAM solution and Box’s content sharing software. More information about these vendors, along with a G-Cloud price calculation tool, can be found here.
