Softcat (LSE: SCT), a leading IT infrastructure provider, has announced that it will soon open its seventh UK office in Southampton. The office will be manned by existing employees already based in the region, along with new graduate recruits local to the area.

With excellent access to a large pool of talented graduates from nearby universities, as well as non-graduates looking for a new opportunity, Softcat anticipates that the new Southampton office will complement the six existing offices around the UK, as well as providing local contact for new and existing customers.

"This will be an exciting move to the South Coast of England, and one that has been on the cards for some time to enhance working options for existing staff," said Colin Brown, Softcat's Managing Director. "With an existing client base in the area, it's important to have a presence in the South of England staffed by long-serving Softcat staff and supplemented by new, local talent."

The office will serve corporate and public sector customers and has an initial capacity for 25-30 people. It is scheduled to open before the end of the calendar year.
