Softcat has been chosen by Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) as a nominated reseller on the Servers, Storage and Solutions National Agreement (SSSNA) framework (Lot 1 and 2). The four-year contract was awarded to HPE by the Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium (SUPC) and Softcat will support it by selling HPE's server and storage solutions to UK universities.
The framework provides another platform for Softcat to demonstrate its capabilities in the education market. Universities are increasingly seeking holistic IT solutions, incorporating both software and hardware. Softcat's education team will supply, support and maintain HPE servers and storage solutions.
Softcat's Chief Executive, Martin Hellawell, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership: "Being awarded a place on this framework shows our commitment to working with higher education institutions through our team of specialists, and is further evidence of the success of our public sector focus. I am confident we will excel in communicating the value of the HPE portfolio to universities, growing our business within the education sector. We respect HPE's record in bringing leading solutions to market and enjoy our working relationship with them."
This SSSNA framework (Lot 1 and 2) win is the latest in a series of successes for Softcat's public sector team. This is the tenth framework that Softcat has been awarded this year, and its thirteenth education sector contract. Softcat has a strong, fast-growing higher education presence and is active on all the major national framework contracts. Its ability to understand the sector's requirements enables it to propose compelling and cost-effective solutions, serving member institutes throughout the UK.
Mike Tankard, HPE's Head of Public Sector commented on the delivery of the framework, saying: "Like Softcat, HPE has an excellent track record in the education sector, delivering innovation, performance and value for money. We believe we were chosen by SUPC because of our world-class infrastructure technology, which complements Softcat's ability to deliver computing solutions. We're excited to be working with Softcat once again, and look forward to the opportunity ahead for both companies, as we provide innovative computing and storage solutions to support education institutions."
In September 2016, HPE awarded Softcat its UK and Ireland Partner of the Year award. The annual partner awards recognise business partners who have achieved outstanding performance and accomplishments that raise the standard for business excellence and customer satisfaction. HPE selected Softcat based on the reseller's outstanding business results and innovation. Find out more about Softcat's education solutions and its participation in education IT frameworks here.
