As many organisations move to deploy software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions and increasingly see hardware as a commodity, Cisco - one of the giants of the hardware world, is unsurprisingly following this trend. In fact, while many organisations recognise Cisco for its hardware solutions, it's also the world's fifth-largest software provider (revenue) and third-largest SaaS and hybrid services provider.

Cisco recently announced its innovative ONE Software strategy which allows customers to streamline licensing and upgrade to new software features without having to upgrade hardware.
