Softcat’s Cisco business unit is one of the fastest growing vendors in Softcat experiencing recognition by being awarded EMEAR Partner of the Year 2016 at the Partner Summit. In order to capitalise on our success, we are looking for a dedicated Cisco focussed sales individual to drive our Public Sector and Commercial business for the North.
Softcat has built a strong relationship with Cisco’s Public Sector team as such our business unit grew by 300% in 2016 reaching rank no. 5 in the UK. With this momentum we are on for another strong performance this year. The successful candidate will be key in developing new business opportunities, driving internal marketing via campaigns, building relationships within Cisco’s Public Sector and Commercial teams, coordinating incentives and seminars. You would be expected to proactively work with both the Specialist Teams and the Sales Team to ensure maximum commercial advantage is gained on all Cisco products inclusive of Meraki. We are looking for a proactive individual who will get stuck in, that is outgoing and capable of working on multiple deals and campaigns, supporting sales opportunities and engaging directly with Cisco. The role will require excellent communication skills both internally and with Cisco. The position will be based out of our Manchester office, with travel requirements to support our northern regional offices in Leeds and Glasgow.
TASKS / DUTIES • To proactively drive the Public Sector and Commercial relationship with Cisco and take this messaging to our specialist sales teams • Proactively manage and work on sales campaigns/initiatives in conjunction with Cisco Commercial Account Management team and Cisco Marketing team. • Work with the Solutions Specialist teams and engage directly with Cisco to maximise revenue and profitability on all sales opportunities. • Act as point of contact for sales related activity with Cisco Commercial/Public Sector Account Management team and Cisco Marketing team • Proactive pipeline management with regular communication back to the Cisco Public Sector/Commercial Account Management Team and support disti relationships • Act as the gateway between the Solutions Specialist teams and the sales teams • To maximise sales in designated offices and promote/educate on new products, and new promotions • To support new starts training and sales enablement
TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE The ideal candidate should be a strong influencer, articulate with first-rate communication and relationship building skills and be an adept organiser. The applicant needs to be able to integrate and work effectively with various teams at Softcat but also possess the confidence and creativity to effectively run their area of business independently. The candidate will be required to proactively cover all northern offices so will be required to travel, therefore excellent time management is essential. Ideally they would have one year of experience in sales with some knowledge of the IT networking market, although full training will be given.
