Softcat and Blancco have partnered together to bring you this webinar on the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), specifically the 'right to be forgotten' stipulation.

The GDPR will strengthen and unify data protection for individuals in Europe and beyond. As part of the law, organisations must adhere to customers’ ‘right to be forgotten.’ This right covers three main principles:

  • Individuals can request the deletion of data about them.
  • Companies will only keep data long-term to comply with retention policies or other acceptable reasons (reversing the burden of proof).
  • Individuals must provide explicit consent for data about them to be held and processed. Companies must be able to provide evidence of individuals providing this knowing consent.

Alan Bentley, Regional Vice President, EMEA at Blancco and Asel Ibraimova, Associate at Squire, Patton and Boggs (UK) LLP, will talk through the struggles faced by organisations to implement the necessary processes, policies and tools to comply with EU GDPR. Join our webinar to learn:

  • The many implications of the new law on your existing data infrastructure.
  • How to strengthen data governance and regulatory compliance within your organisation.
  • How your organisation can easily enforce data removal policies with end-of-life requirements for EU GDPR.

By registering for this webinar you agree to our terms of attendance, available for review at: https://www.softcat.com/documents/event-attendance-terms.pdf
