Graeme joined Softcat in April 2018. With 30 years of experience in the IT distribution industry, Graeme was most recently Senior Vice President EMEA, Advanced and Specialist Solutions, Tech Data Corporation ("Tech Data"), a position he held from March 2017. He was promoted to that role when Avnet's Technology Solutions business was acquired by Tech Data in early 2017. Prior to that, he was President for Avnet Technology Solutions, EMEA for almost seven years and a member of Avnet's Global Executive Committee. He previously spent six years at Bell Micro (as President of Global Distribution) and his earlier career included roles at Tech Data (President EMEA) and Computer 2000 (Managing Director UK & Ireland). Graeme is a qualified accountant (ICAEW).
I joined Softcat in January 2015 attracted by a company that clearly had the things I was looking for in spades: terrific growth, fantastic future prospects, and great people. The culture at Softcat has to be experienced to be fully understood, and the virtuous circle of motivation and outstanding results it creates genuinely feels unique. I’ve been fortunate to work for some great companies in the past, spending time in the FTSE100 with Experian and also herding meerkats at privately-owned comparethemarket.com, but moving to Softcat was the easiest decision I’ve yet made in my career. My wife and I currently live near Oxford with our two fantastic girls and a Golden Retriever called Fonzi (the name seemed like a good idea at the time…).
I joined Softcat in 2002 as a graduate Sales Executive. I didn't know what to expect from a career in the IT industry other than I knew it would be fast paced. I found it just that, and immediately found a home in Softcat that feels as special today as it did all those years ago. The company has grown hugely in that time, but we've managed to keep it a fantastic place to work, and I'm proud to be part of the team tasked with making sure that continues. In my sixteen years at Softcat I've enjoyed a number of roles including Team Leader and Sales Manager, opening our London office. After almost three years I returned to Marlow to head up our Solutions Sales teams and in 2020 I am incredibly excited to take the helm as Softcat's Managing Director. I live locally to Marlow with my wife and our two amazing children.
I joined Softcat in August 2017 as the new HR Director, having spent the last thirteen years in HR and Recruitment. I worked at Three for six years, culminating in leading the recruitment team, before working as the HR Director at Universal Pictures. I loved the Softcat culture during my interview process and have been overwhelmed by how friendly everyone is since starting the role. It's definitely the most unique place I've ever worked! Outside of work, I'll watch any sport I can, I'm always planning my next travels and I live in Shepherd's Bush with my husband Matthew and the best dog in the world, Tyson.
I joined Softcat in the summer of 2018 to head up our Legal team. I am passionate about ensuring that my team are not seen as a sales prevention function but instead provide pragmatic legal support across the business. I’ve spent most of my legal career working in or around IT but what sets Softcat apart is our culture. I feel incredibly lucky to be able to work in such a challenging but fun and supportive environment and to have the opportunity to contribute to maintaining and developing that culture. I’m mainly based in our Manchester office and live in Sale with my husband and son.
I joined Softcat in April 2014 and take responsiblity for managing partner relationships and strategy, maximising marketing opportunities and increasing growth of new business and technologies. As they are our largest partner, much of my time is spent managing and co-ordinating our extensive Microsoft relationship and ensuring we are keeping up with or indeed ahead of the rapid changes that a new cloud era brings to the software segment. I have previously worked for Insight EMEA, VERITAS and Symantec. I live in Hertfordshire with my wife, daughter and barking mad dog!
I joined Softcat in January 2019 as CIO. I’ve worked in the IT industry for over 20 years, with 10 of those working for Arrow ECS. At Arrow I was the UK&I CIO for 6 years before moving into EMEA wide senior IT leadership roles. At Softcat along with responsibility for the company IT systems, applications, infrastructure, networking and security amongst others I am also responsible for leading our Business Transformation programme. Outside of work my I’m a huge sports fan and long suffering Leeds United fan.
Having worked in a number of different senior finance roles with Volex plc, Genus plc and Cookson Group plc, I joined Softcat in May 2013 as Finance Director, excited by the growth and dynamism of the company and wanting to help shape further Softcat success. As Softcat continues to grow, and the numbers get bigger, financial management becomes more complex and it is rewarding to work with driven Softcat people to rise to these financial challenges and put in place a framework that enables further profitable growth. After spending 3 years in the US in one of my previous roles, I now live in Guildford with my wife and four kids, whose various sporting pursuits seem to take up all of my time outside of work!
I'd been in the IT industry for ten years before joining Softcat in May 2011 as Public Sector Sales Manager in our Manchester branch. I have always taken great pleasure in building sales teams and Softcat offered me the platform to do just that. We have a team of over 100 people servicing the Government, Healthcare and Education sectors. It is a real privilege to work in such a fantastic, unique and fun company that has allowed me the freedom to develop my career to my current role of Sales Director. Outside of work I enjoy my sport and spending time with family and friends. I love to travel and Softcat has taken me to places all over the world on wonderful incentive trips that have inspired my family getaways.
I joined Softcat in 2005 on the graduate program as an account manager. A career in IT sales seemed the perfect mix for skills learned at uni, following a degree in business and IT (and a one year placement with IBM). I've enjoyed a challenging and rewarding time with Softcat and had several promotions in this time including previous roles as team leader, sales manager and head of sales operations, which has recently changed to operations. I live in Southampton with my wife and two young sons, and spare time largely consumed with family activities, such as football and swimming.
