Softcat won CRN’s ‘Best Company to Work For’ at the CRN Sales and Marketing Awards last night at the Brewery in London. The award comes just a month after the IT infrastructure provider came 2nd and 8th in the ‘Great Place To Work’ UK and European rankings respectively.

Martin Hellawell, Softcat CEO said, “We are delighted to win this award from CRN. Softcat’s fortunate to have been recognised a number of times for its commitment to employee satisfaction however these awards have always come from outside our industry. To be recognised by CRN and chosen from a prestigious list of candidates and employers who we hold in high regard, is humbling and a great start to the weekend.”

Softcat’s recruitment strategy has long been closely hitched to its overall business strategy. The company attributes its 99% customer satisfaction rate to the happiness of its employees, whom it keeps engaged and motivated with a range of perks and incentives. Each office sports a bright and colourful décor, with creative murals decorating the walls and table tennis and X-box experience in the ‘chill out zones’. The company is committed to promoting social responsibility, and has raised over a million pounds for charity in the past eight years. At this year’s May Ball, staff and partners raised over £300,000. Softcat encourages CSR on a personal level by sponsoring individuals and groups for their charity work.

A third party employee survey last year returned a satisfaction rate of 98%, and this is reflected in their output; with every member of staff happy in their role and motivated to meet targets, last year Softcat achieved 28% business growth to a £504m turnover.
