Softcat has been recognised for its excellence both as a service provider and an employer, recruiting over 160 staff from the local area. Earlier this year it ranked second in the UK’s ‘Great Place To Work’ rankings, and it has a customer satisfaction rating of 99%. It serves over 1500 businesses in the Greater Manchester region and the north.
Chris Reynolds, Softcat’s sales manager, said: “We’re delighted to have won this award; we’ve been in Manchester for seven years now, and it’s really important to us that the business community believes we’re doing a good job. We’ve grown staff numbers from 12 to 160, and we’re still recruiting. We also try to support local charities wherever possible.” He added, “Our local presence is important, but so is our regional one; with the economy strengthening in the north we’re excited to be a part of it. Next month we open a new office in Leeds, and we’re planning further expansions in the north.”
CEO Martin Hellawell said: “We are delighted to have received this award. We absolutely love doing business in Manchester. It’s a lively, vibrant City with many great companies in the area. The people in the area are fantastic; friendly, positive and enthusiastic; that makes for a great place to have a company. Because of that we are recruiting significant amounts of people in the area. We are a huge advocate of recruiting people with great attitude and providing them with an outstanding work place. We believe that leads to world class customer service and outstanding results.”
He added, “We’re placing great emphasis on northern expansion at the moment, and this award reflects our commitment to growing business and customer relationships in northern regions.”
