Softcat’s Christmas campaign saw £1500 raised for charity over the festive season, continuing the company’s commitment to support and encourage their local community.
The money was raised through a Christmas treasure hunt on the company’s website and each time someone entered the game, Softcat made a five pound donation. This money will be split between foodbank One Can Trust and Wycombe Homeless Connection, charities local to Softcat’s Marlow head office in Buckinghamshire.
The season of giving didn’t stop there, however, as Softcat’s teams were also gifted with a Christmas hamper which they pledged to refill and donate, in the spirit of goodwill at Christmas.
One Can Trust is a foodbank, serving families in need in the South Bucks area. People who find themselves in times of crisis can turn to One Can Trust, who pack and send out around 400 food parcels each month. Foodbank project manager, Steph said, “One Can Trust are overwhelmed by the amazing generosity of Softcat employees. Thank you so much for the wonderful food hampers, your support is making a BIG difference to our community!”
Wycombe Homeless Connection helps homeless people find their place back in the community. They run a night shelter through the coldest months of the year and focus on helping those who do not qualify for housing help from the council. They said, “All year round, we inspire hope and reignite ambitions by helping people understand their rights, find accommodation and keep their homes. We are incredibly grateful for Softcat, whose exceptionally generous donation continues to sustain this ongoing work. We sincerely hope they continue to tackle homelessness and rebuild lives with us in the future.”
Softcat’s Managing Director, Colin Brown, added his appreciation, “We really are grateful to our partners and customers who got involved with our Christmas campaign to raise such a great total. I’m also delighted that our teams stepped up to generously refill the hampers we gifted them, donating them to charities such as One Can Trust. Here at Softcat, we always want to be outward looking and wholeheartedly support these charities who do such good work assisting those that need that extra help.”
Softcat’s Christmas campaign is part of their annual project of fundraising initiatives, supporting a number of causes and charities. It was announced last year that Softcat have now raised over £2m for good causes since 2011. Softcat will also be holding their May Ball again this year to raise further money for charity, with last year ‘s event raising over £229,000 through ticket sales, raffle, silent auction and a live auction.
