About the Team

 

The Softcat Public Sector Microsoft team is a market leading team of dedicated Public Sector Cloud & Licensing solution consultants. Working directly to support clients across all verticals including; Local, Regional & Central Government, Healthcare, National Security, Bluelight, Outsourcers, Education & Charities. We assist our account managers to leverage our expertise and experience in delivering complex Microsoft licensing solutions to help clients rationalise their IT infrastructure, realise cost savings and begin their cloud journey.  Whilst meeting the overall customer goal of delivering improvements to core public services and overcoming obstacles to meet service objectives. We achieve this through innovative and cost-effective ICT solutions coupled with a consultative approach and demonstrating outstanding customer service. 

 

Your Role

 

The role will involve supporting the Softcat Public Sector sales team in a wide range of Microsoft sales and back office activities.

You will be working across the Enterprise North market segments, driving both new business sales and growing business with existing customers. This is a customer-facing role which involves both office-based work and customer site visits as required, including occasional overnight stays where necessary. The role is aligned predominantly to Public Sector accounts across Local and Regional Government (LRG), Central Government, Healthcare and Education.

 

What you’ll be doing

 

  • Driving to closure Microsoft licensing opportunities as needed with Softcat account managers.
  • The role is varied and will include customer conference calls, customer meetings, proposal writing, quote and cost projection preparation.
  • As and when required you will attend and deliver workshops, customer presentations and product roadmap sessions.
  • Engage with Microsoft Enterprise Sales and leadership teams to ensure priorities and goals are aligned with the Softcat sales function.
  • Define and deliver Softcat Public Sector Microsoft customer events.
  • Actively help in defining the go-to-market strategy for the Public Sector Enterprise Northern territories.
  • Prospect and manage your own geographical territory with support from the Public Sector Microsoft leadership team.

 

What we need from you

 

  • Experience in a customer facing and volume licence sales role.
  • Board Level sales negotiation experience required.
  • Demonstrable & proven results in selling Microsoft 365 & Azure technologies
  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft product licensing and agreements – particularly Enterprise Agreements, Select Plus/MPSA, CSP and an understanding of how these have been shaped by Frameworks and MOUs in the Public Sector.
  • Understanding of Microsoft cloud technologies and how these can both align to and shape an organisation’s business strategy and outcomes.
  • Whilst this is not a technical role a good understanding of Microsoft technology and a passion for making customers buy is required.
  • Microsoft MCP qualified is essential
