Our recent inclusion on the Buying Solutions framework has increased our focus on the Public Sector market where our ultimate goals are to help drive costs out of these organisations, free up internal resource, and maximise productivity. In order to achieve these goals we believe that customer service is imperative, as well as holding key relationships with all the major vendors, which enables Softcat to provide the most attractive commercial proposition for your organisation.

Softcat are very proud to have been awarded the Buying Solutions framework for Commoditised IT Hardware and Software (CITHS), sometimes referred to by the frameworks previous names GCAT, Catalyst, ITGAS or OGC, for the supply of IT infrastructure, software and associated services to the public sector. The Buying Solutions framework agreement was awarded following a rigorous Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) tender selection process meaning that our public sector customers avoid the cost of this time consuming process.

The framework agreement went live 2nd March 2010 and Softcat has been successful in Lot 2 – IT Infrastructure Hardware and Lot 3 – Specialist Channel Partners for Software.

The award of the framework agreement for Lot 2 is in line with Softcat’s strategy to supply solutions covering: Servers, Storage, Networking, Security and Virtualisation. Lot 3 for Software is where Softcat has had unrivalled success and customer satisfaction performance.  We have strong and well established relationships with all the leading vendors including Microsoft, HP, Cisco, Dell, Symantec, VMware, Citrix, Sophos, and Adobe amongst many others. However this list is not exhaustive and it is very rare for there to be an IT product we cannot supply. The award of this framework follows on from several milestones in our recent history including CRN Corporate Reseller of the year in 2008, Microscope Aces Security Reseller of the Year in 2009 and perhaps most significantly Number 1 Best Small Company to Work For in the Sunday Times this year.
