A blazing start to 2012 for Softcat
The year 2012 may have only just begun, but in its first five weeks Softcat has already picked up big awards from three major IT vendors and framework contracts from two public sector consortia.
The IT provider won Growth Partner of the Year at EMC’s UK Channel Awards, in recognition of its revenue and pipeline growth, competitive change and accreditation achievements. It then proceeded to win Partner of the Year at Symantec’s UK and Ireland Partner Awards ceremony, as well as two awards from leading virtualisation vendor VMware: Partner of the Year and Small Business Partner. Softcat’s sales of Symantec solutions have grown across the board, and the company has sold and delivered VMware solutions to more customers than any other VMware partner in the last year.
One of Softcat’s biggest success stories in 2011 was the burgeoning of its public sector business. This trend looks set to continue this year: Softcat is one of a select group of suppliers appointed last month by the Crescent Purchasing Consortium to provide network hardware and services, including servers and data storage, to a wide range of institutions involved in further education throughout the UK. It is also one of just nine suppliers selected by the North Eastern Universities Purchasing Consortium to supply, install and support integrated audio-visual systems to 24 universities in the North, East and Centre of England.

Softcat’s awards haul in the last two years also includes Reseller of the Year at the CRN Channel Awards, Dell UK and EMEA Partner of the Year, HP Mid-market PSG Reseller award, Mimecast Premier Partner of the Year, and Sophos Mid-Market Reseller of the Year.
