Important changes being made to public sector procurement ahead of year-end

The Crown Commercial Service (CCS), formerly the Government Procurement Service (GPS), has today confirmed several changes to its existing frameworks. The frameworks, CITHS (Commoditised IT Hardware & Software), ITHS (IT Hardware & Solutions), SPRINT II, and Software Application Solutions have so far enabled public sector customers to make significant savings on bulk IT purchases, but with new frameworks looming and the existing ones expiring, customers will need to move fast if they want to benefit from this route to market.

Softcat takes ‘Major VAR of the Year’ for second year running at the UK IT Industry Awards

Softcat has won ‘Large Supplier of the Year’ for the second year running at the UK IT Industry Awards, following a year which has seen its revenues reach £400m, a 30% increase on last year. Managing director Colin Brown accepted the award at the black tie ceremony in London’s Battersea Park Events Arena, which was attended by over 1,300 guests.
