Softcat customers recommended to switch to Adobe Creative Cloud by May 30th


Adobe has announced that it is removing all Creative Suite 6 (CS6) products from its volume licensing offering. To take advantage of a current Adobe promotion, all government and commercial customers holding perpetual licenses will need to switch to the Creative Cloud subscription licenses by May 30th.The promotion entitles current CS3 and later customers a heavily discounted migration price to the Creative Cloud for each licence that they currently own. These changes will not affect Education customers

With eight weeks until showtime, Softcat’s charity May Ball ticket sales are through the roof, with 630 people attending already and many more predicted as the event draws closer. Employees, partners and staff guests are eagerly anticipating the now infamous yearly bash, to be held on May 23rd at London’s prestigious Grosvenor House Hotel, in aid of national children’s charity Dreams Come True.

Important changes being made to public sector procurement ahead of year-end


The Crown Commercial Service (CCS), formerly the Government Procurement Service (GPS), has today confirmed several changes to its existing frameworks. The frameworks, CITHS (Commoditised IT Hardware & Software), ITHS (IT Hardware & Solutions), SPRINT II, and Software Application Solutions have so far enabled public sector customers to make significant savings on bulk IT purchases, but with new frameworks looming and the existing ones expiring, customers will need to move fast if they want to benefit from this route to market.
