This job provides an opportunity to start an IT career in a lively, experienced technical department as a Pre-sales Hardware Specialist. The dedicated team delivers pre-sales advice to a large group of Sales Account Managers for a range of different hardware technologies.
Main Responsibilities
• Assisting Sales Account Managers to develop new hardware quotes for both new and existing customers
• Technically verifying quotes that may be provided by customers
• Working on large projects to provide pre-sales technical advice on topics including Enterprise-level servers and storage
• Liaising with a variety of top-tier vendors to obtain a range of technical-oriented accreditations
• Contacting vendors to obtain technical information on a range of products
• Talking to customers to solve technical queries on quotes and installations
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of all technologies involved
Full Pre-Sales technical training will be provided for the right candidate and you will be expected to complete HP accreditations to become an HP Certified Professional.
Essential Skills
• In-depth knowledge of, and passion for, computer hardware
• Good, all-round IT knowledge
• Enthusiastic, organised self-starter who is willing to constantly learn new products and technologies
• Ability to work to deadlines, often under pressure
• Good customer service skills when on the phone and face-to-face
• Ability to work in a team for large projects, but also work on your own for smaller projects
Advantageous Skills
• Previous role in the IT industry
• Exposure to HP products including commercial desktops, servers and storage
